It is the sole representative of the genus Galeocerdo. This shark has transversedark stripes on the back and sides that tend to fade with age. The rest of the body is gray or blue-green light, being replaced by white in the face and the belly.

White shark

The white shark (Carcharodon carcharias) is a species of cartilaginous fish of the family Lamnidae lamniforme found in warm and temperate waters of most oceans. This species is the only surviving genus Carcharodon today.
